One by One: Amway Russsia

Children in Russia's social and medical institutions have a reason to smile over new play and sensory rooms outfitted with special equipment, toys and furniture just for them. The "Child's Smile" project renovates areas of poorly maintained facilities to meet the environmental and developmental needs of children. Distributors and employees help with facility renovation and maintenance, gifting of equipment and organize events for the children. A total of 60 Child's Smile playrooms will be completed by 2011.

Amway also partners with the Charity Fund, Rosspass, to equip doctors with high-tech, state-of-the-art diagnostics that enable them to receive consultations from colleagues at the Scientific Child Health Center under the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.

Amway and the Northern Crown Charity foundation offer vocational guidance classes in orphanages and boarding schools to teach children woodwork, sowing, hairdressing and computer skills. Special equipment and programs are designed based on the development needs of children. Upon course completion, children are issued a certificate that enables them to work in the selected profession after leaving child welfare institutions.
