One by One: Amway Philippines

Amway Philippines launched One by One Campaign for Children in 2004 by bringing 50 orphaned, neglected or abused children of Damas de Filipinas Settlement House to an afternoon of fun and rides at the Enchanted Kingdom.
In 2005, Amway Philippines sought to embark on a long-term, sustainable commitment to children in the Philippines by partnering with Museo Pambata in helping children understand their roles in their families, schools, communities and society. Storytelling is Amway's main instrument in this campaign. On June 2, 2005, Amway Philippines conducted a one-day storytelling workshop for its employees and Independent Business Owners (IBOs). Also invited to participate in the workshop were several parent volunteers from F. Benitez Elementary School. By involving its employees, IBOs, and the parents in the campaign, Amway Philippines left no stone unturned to ensure the efficient implementation of the campaign.
How we help- Amway Philippines hosted a Learning Festival for F. Benitez Elementary School on June 28, 2005, as its first major event for the One by One Campaign. Amway IBOs, employees and volunteers played big brothers and sisters for a day to over 400 public school children in an afternoon filled with fun, excitement and learning as kids were treated to a program consisting of an arts and crafts session, a magic show, and the most anticipated storytelling hour.
- Donated storytelling corner, which was unveiled during the Learning Festival at F. Benitez Elementary School. The storytelling corner, painted with the lively colors of the One by One Campaign for Children logo, was patterned after a castle – a symbol of fantasy, magic and imagination.
- Amway, together with volunteer IBOs and employees, conducts storytelling sessions every fourth Wednesday of the month using the storytelling corner.
Amway Philippines was recently awarded by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) with the Anvil Award of Merit for its One by One Campaign for Children. The Anvil Awards are annually conducted by the PRSP to give recognition to outstanding public relations programs and tools that have been implemented during the past year.
