Children with school bags from Amway Malaysia

School Bags for Children, Petaling Jaya

Children with school bags from Amway Malaysia

The students of S.K. Sri Petaling in Petaling Jaya recently exhibited not only cheerful smiles but also proudly showed off their new folder cum bags when leading direct selling company Amway (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (Amway) came a calling. The company had donated 1000 bags for distribution to the school children in line with its commitment to helping children.

Classmates Siti Nur Azzyati bt. Arfan Rahimi and Nicole Maryanne, both ten, were among those who were busily looking over their new bags. “It is really useful to store my books, papers and stationeries. I also like the different compartments which will help me organize my school materials.” said Siti Nur Azzyati enthusiastically.

“It’s good that this bag can be zippered shut so that my belongings do not fall out. I will be using it for my tuition classes in the afternoons,” added Nicole Maryanne with a smile.

Headmistress, Pn. Hajjah Bibi Maria bt. Hussain expressed her appreciation and thanks to Amway: “The children are obviously delighted judging from the looks on their faces. I’d like to thank Amway for such a generous contribution.”

Low Han Kee, Managing Director of Amway replied: “We are glad the children find the bags appropriate for their day-to-day use. Amway believes in the unlimited potential of children and that it should be nurtured, so we are happy that our contribution can indirectly facilitate the children’s learning process.”

Amway has had a proud tradition of contributing to various children’s causes since the mid-80s. One of their notable projects is pioneering the Tunas Harapan homes for underprivileged children in Kuala Selangor in 1987, which the company still maintains close ties with until today. Amway’s 158,000 distributors nationwide are also encouraged to share with their communities through the company’s “Amway - Friends of the Community” program.
