One by One: Amway Japan

Amway Japan offers mentally disabled children the opportunity to participate in sport competitions through Special Olympics Nippon, chaired by Mrs. Kayoko Hosokawa. During the Special Olympics Nagano World Games in February 2005, 450 Amway distributor volunteers coached and encouraged these very special athletes.
Amway Japan’s partnership with the Afan Forest Foundation and C.W. Nicol has given blind children the opportunity to experience a walk in the woods, a rare gift when you grow up in the city.
Konishiki is more than a sumo wrestler in Japan—he’s a celebrity. Children love him, and when he shows up as the guest of honor at a One by One Christmas party for disadvantaged children, it’s an experience they’ll never forget.
In addition to these major partnerships, Amway Japan has created a One by One award to recognize three children each year who have overcome a handicap with outstanding achievements.
