Students benefiting from Amway Indonesia's LOGICO program

One by One: Amway Indonesia

Students at a Yogyakarta school rebuilt by Amway India

Amway Indonesia has worked diligently to ensure that the devastating earthquake that struck in May 2006 has not stopped the children of Indonesia from receiving an education. By providing funding and volunteers to rebuild  SD Negeri Sompok and SD Negeri Kedung Mir, elementary schools in the Bantul region of Yogyakarta, Amway Indonesia has done its part to keep school in session.

To help fund the rebuilding efforts, Amway Indonesia formed a children's choir made up of approximately 100 children of IBOs. The children received intensive vocal training and learned 15 songs, several of which were arranged by IBOs.  The 15 songs celebrating Amway Indonesia's 15th anniversary were recorded on a cd, which was sold with proceeds benefiting the school rebuilding projects.

Amway Indonesia has also partnered with LOGICO to help students improve their English while having fun. IBOs volunteer with the students and teachers after school and follow the LOGICO educational system, and test their new skills in an annual competition.

Amway Indonesia wants children to have an opportunity to learn, but they want to see them grow up healthy, too. That’s why they provided dental hygiene products to students at SDN 13 – 16 Karet Tengsin, and worked with a local hospital to monitor the dental health of children from June – August 2006. The end result? 925 children with something to smile about… healthier teeth and gums.
