Adopt a Doll
Czech IBOs showed true generosity of heart by their participation in UNICEF Czech Republic's Adopt a Doll, Save a Life project. Dolls are made by IBOs, celebrities, or children, and then sold along with a "birth certificate" that shows who made the doll. The doll is then sold, with proceeds providing immunizations to save the lives of children in developing countries.IBO functions have proven to be a great way to promote this initiative. One of the most active supporters of the project is Amway Ambassador to UNICEF, Diamond IBO Mrs. Jana Vladarzova. She personally made five dolls, including one inspired by our popular Lily pin, which were put up for auction at the Brno kick-off event. The Lily doll alone raised enough money to vaccinate 22 children.
A check for this amount was presented onstage to the Director of Czech UNICEF, Mrs. P. Gomba. Amway business partners of Jana Vladarzová made several hundred dolls, raising substantial funds for the Amway – UNICEF immunization project.
Founders Emerald couple Alice and Roman Čížek also actively participated in the project, organizing an exhibit and selling the dolls at their business meeting in Prague. Their efforts were warmly received by attending IBOs who bought 25 dolls, making it possible for UNICEF to vaccinate another 25 children.
