2006 China Youth Volunteer Action Award
In March of 2006, Amway China was honored with the 2006 China Youth Volunteer Action Award in recognition of its long-term commitment and devotion to public volunteer service. Granted by the China Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, this award is of the highest level and is one of the most influential and prestigious of its kind. ACCL is the only multi-national company to ever have received it.ACCL has made volunteerism a top priority and part of their overall strategy for success. To date, Amway China has initiated 62 volunteer projects throughout the country, and more than 18,000 Amway volunteers (predominantly SRs) have donated over 100,000 hours of community service. Programs include the China Volunteer Education Aid Program, Amway Hope Schools and Operational Smile.
Amway China plans to continue its successful strategy of providing service opportunities for its SRs. For example, this year, ACCL became one of the major sponsors of the Special Olympics, which will be held in Shanghai in 2007. So far, more than 10,000 SRs have applied to be volunteers for this event.
