Team Nutrilite Goes Over the Edge for Easter Seals Canada
How do you quantify the value of a team? Amway Global's Canadian operations asked that question of their IBOs and found that the value of TEAM NUTRILITE to Easter Seals Canada is over $55,000.
That's how much money Amway Global independent business owners raised across the country, after being asked by the corporation to join TEAM NUTRILITE in support of the Drop Zone. As an added incentive, Amway Global provided t-shirts to all IBOs who registered under TEAM NUTRILITE and reached the fund-raising qualification - after all, if you're part of the team, you've got to have the uniform.
"We're proud to continue in our support of this wonderful organization not just through the Drop Zone, but also by our other fund-raising activities as part of our global One by One campaign in support of children's charities," Jim Hunking, Amway Global's Managing Director - Canada and Caribbean Operations. "Our opportunity is geared towards helping people live better lives and that's a philosophy which is shared by Easter Seals. They're a perfect fit and we're proud they're a part of TEAM NUTRILITE."
In addition to serving as a National Ascending sponsor of the Drop Zone, Amway Global supports a number of fund-raising initiatives, including collecting donations to Easter Seals in lieu of admission to their product expos, selling Easter Seals Christmas cards, and offering on-line donations on amwayglobal.ca.
It's not just the corporation that is whole-heartedly supporting this endeavour. That excitement and enthusiasm has trickled down to its independent business owners.
"[TEAM NUTRILITE involvement in Drop Zone] gives us an opportunity to talk to people how, as business owners, we're doing more than just building a business," explained IBO David Allan. "We're also helping build our community."
Allan captained Halifax's TEAM NUTRILITE group, which raised over $7,000. He expects even bigger things next year. "Everyone on the team has said they'll be back next year and I've had others approach me and say they want to participate," he added.
With a number of worthy charities competing for the same dollar, Allan explained that the Drop Zone idea is one that really stands out. "It really gets people's attention," he said. "They'll say, 'You're going to do what? Sure I'll give you money to do that.'
"It's a unique way to raise funds for a great organization and a great cause."
